Adventure Styles — What It Feels Like

Each private adventure has a natural character based on terrain, remoteness, and physical effort needed. These descriptions help you understand the general style of the adventure — but everything can be adjusted to suit your group.

Easy-going & Scenic

Cover ground, take in the views, find your rhythm

These hikes follow established paths with clear footing and a relaxed rhythm. Expect sustained but gentle walking, low elevation gain, and spectacular scenery without too many challenges.

Typical day:

2-4 hours of walking · Minimal elevation gain · Defined trails · Flexible pace

Best for:

Healthy travelers of any ability who want some movement and nature without pushing themselves.

Active & Rewarding

A satisfying balance of effort and enjoyment

These routes involve longer distances and more varied terrain, including the possibility of some big hills and uneven trails. You’ll work for your views and feel genuinely rewarded — but never rushed or pushed to extremes.

Typical day:

3–5 hours of hiking · Moderate climbs and descents · Mixed terrain & uneven trails

Best for:

Active travelers who enjoy being moving their bodies, and who want to earn their views.

Challenging & Immersive

Work hard for incredible rewards

These adventures go deeper and farther into remote landscapes with longer climbs, rugged terrain, full-body movement, and an “into the wild” feel.

Typical day:

3–5 hours of hiking · Significant elevation gain · Sustained effort · Rugged terrain ·  Hands-on movement

Best for:

Energetic travelers or experienced hikers who enjoy effort and overcoming challenges for big rewards.

A Final Note:

Adventure style describes the character of the route — not your personal limits.

If something excites you but feels slightly intimidating, that’s often a good sign. We can always fine-tune the route, distance, and pacing so it fits you.

If you’re unsure, choose what intrigues you most — we’ll shape it together.
